Stop Motion video

Two of my students worked very hard and many hours to story map, and create their own short stop motion video using a digital camera.  They handed in a back story and summary of their idea and then they created this video on "perseverance".  The students had no background knowledge on the mechanics of creating a video.  We watched examples of stop motion videos and discussed copy right and the use of creative commons information to enhance their work. We navigated how to use movie maker, and then I demonstrated how to create their own.  The video is a little shaky and could use some editing, but they did well.

A web tool that can be used to write and share stories. You can collaborate, it has drag and drop features as well as create text.  Storify stories can be embedded anywhere on the web.

A great tool for students to use to record demonstration tutorials on whatever they are doing on the computer.  A perfect example is with the idea I suggested for SketchUp.

VoiceThread is an online version of the program Photostory.  An online tool that is a multimedia slideshow where one can use voice to add comments add audio files or video. Group conversations are collected and shared in one place.

I am currently teaching my students how to use movie maker. I showed them various videos I found on Google video on movie production and editing. The following link will demonstrate how to edit clips in order to create a publication.

Under google video there are other movie basic resources that a teacher can use in the area of video productions to assist in teaching the lesson. I found Google video very helpful. My friends at AICT, from work, recommended Video Production-shotlists and Storyboards and Kids in Action-the rule of thirds by Nortel LearniT. Also, through my search I found other videos created from Nortel that you can view.
