Worth another mention:

Instructables and Howtoons are great websites that one can use ideas to create and build their creations.

There are instructional manuals.  These manuals encourage creative problem solving skills.

At Howtoons, their mission is "to provide engaging content".  Using comic format, kids can build things.

Solar System Exploration.......NASA

In January 2013 I mentioned the NASA site:  The Solar System Exploration site.  It's worth mentioning again  that it offers an education and kids section, video gallery, a multi media section that students would find interesting.  As well as a gallery of images, videos and an interactive section.

Science 360

Science 360 is sponsored by the National Science Foundation.  This site is a video library on up to date view of current science, engineering, technology and math from around the world.  The website features video of the day and videos are embeddable.  There is a list of topics to select from and a search box.  This site is free to use.  It is also available as an app for ipad and android.

Sound, Earth and Animals...... Science Apps

My daughter showed me the App, Sound Uncovered which helps you discover, explore and experiment with sound. This interactive app is great to use with your sound unit.  This Free App was developed by Exploratorium.

BBC Bitesize ....... video clips

There is a  link within BBC Teachers called Bitesize with videos, activities and lessons.

 It is a section for teachers on various topics from ages 5 - 11 that have very short video clips.

SpongeLab

An earlier post revisited: Spongelab.  There have been upgrades and changes since I last mentioned this.  Sponge lab is an open and free science learning community.  Spongelab is interactive and the media is available for anyone to use.

Science Daily

Science Daily is a source for latest research news.  There is also a search box where you can enter a keyword or phrase to search the archives for related news topics, the latest news stories, reference articles, science videos, images, and books.  This website is updated several times a day with breaking news.

Solar System Exploration.....NASA

My daughter came home one day and announced that she needed to make the Galileo Space Orbitor for her science project.  She went online and began researching for her project.  She came across the NASA website that had templates of their Space Exploration Fleet.   She printed the PDF and created her Paper Model.  This is the model she created AND the model turned out just like this image!!!

This website is a great Solar System Exploration Site.  There is an Education and Kids section as well as offer other interesting information.  Aside from this, what interested me was the Multi-media section that students would find interesting.  There is a gallery of images, videos and an interactive section.

Project Noah....Connect with the Natural World through Investigation

I love it when I stumble upon sites like this!!!

Project Noah help students experience nature through which they solve real-world problems.  This site is for students to share their experiences with wildlife and they are given oppotunities to make a difference.  Students make observations and investigations on key concepts in the Life Sciences and share their work with the Project Noah community. 

Teachers can sign up and set up their classroom. Resources and teaching materials are available.  Great enquiry based curriculum and critical literacy.

There is an app available as well.

Crash Course Videos...History...Biology

The author John Green created a series of 42 videos called World History by Crash  Course.  They teach you the History of the world.   There is also another author,  Hank Green by Crash Course that has a series of 40 videos that teach you Biology.

The Why Files................News

I was searching for articles and resources when I came across this site by complete accident.  The Why Files is the science behind the news. This site posts current event stories and each story will have a connection to Science concepts. There is a classroom activities section that teachers can use as lessons and quizzes for students.
